The Carteret Partnership for Children was recently awarded a $10,000 grant for our Community Diaper Closet. The grant is funded with support from Sarah W. and Leonard Y. Safrit Gift Fund, a fund administered by the North Carolina Community Foundation.
1 in 3 families struggle to afford basic hygiene products. As explained on the Diaper Bank of North Carolina “Public safety net programs such as WIC and SNAP assistance do not cover the purchase of diapers and wipes, often leaving families to make the difficult decision between buying diapers or other necessities with their limited funds. For families in need, something as small as a diaper can have a significant impact”.
