Real Men Read Initiative

Real Men Read is a volunteer-driven program that brings “MENtors” from the community into PreK and classrooms to read four different books throughout the course of the school year.

 

Students receive a book during each visit to take home so they can build their own home libraries and share with their families. Since men tend to be seen as less involved in early education, spending time sharing books with a male role model allows all children to connect with the world of reading in a new and special way.

 

The Partnership’s Real Men Read Initiative is increasing access to books, highlighting the importance of early literacy, and promoting male role models in early education settings.

 

All 4-year-old/PreK classrooms and FCCHs that would like to participate, should email registration form to Tara at twilleford@carteretkids.org
