"Super-Heroes" Among Us

jrogers209

The Carteret News-Times featured an article on “2020 Women Heroes on the Front Lines” in the Sunday, January 17, 2021 edition. Several women leaders in our community were listed – all heading up programs that deal with many facets of recovery and resilience in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Among those names was Dr. Gwen Roberts, the Board Chair of Carteret Partnership for Children. Gwen is the Executive Director of the Carteret County Rape Crisis Program, leading a staff of 3 to educate, serve and advocate for those in need. She and her staff are committed to keeping their doors open, despite the pandemic, and their crisis line available 24/7/365.

She has been a part of the Carteret Partnership Board of Directors for many years, most recently representing the Carteret County Manager since 2011 and serving as Board Chair since 2020. Despite the difficulties brought on by the virus, she continues to be a hero to our organization and to so many others. Click on the file below to review the complete article.
